This is why I always tell people to read brave new world when they start talking about 1984. 1984 won’t happen, but we are all living in the beginning of the brave new world..
Interesting. I see it but then again I’m on Tumblr what do I know?
I’ve read both books and tbh honest Brave new world seems much more conceivable, and realistic.
1984 is about language control… and the english language is rapidly degrading to a point where this is real. this is why people have such difficulty communicating, because the lingua franca has been spliced and parsed… for example, in spanish there are multiple ways to say “I like…”, in English, you say “I like” what do you do on facebook to show acknowledgment? You like
also I have faced a lot of problems in my personal life because of the controversy of me keeping written records in journals.. people feel scared of the written word, we’re so used to things being digital that when someone puts a pen to paper you are scrutinized…
